Google Guarantee is the hero that small business, in-home service providers need.
Google Guarantee, part of the Google Local Services umbrella, is changing the game for mom and pop service providers. For those unfamiliar with the program, Google Guarantee is a screening process orchestrated by Google, which qualifies businesses to be “guaranteed” for the consumer, backed by Google. Those who qualify are listed in the search results at the top, even above the paid ads.
One of the frustrating difficulties that small businesses face when trying to compete in Google listings, both in Search Engine Optimization and Pay-Per-Click, is the sizable budget it takes to surpass very large corporations and franchised businesses. It has almost become accepted that small businesses are competing amongst themselves for the top listings available, below those of their big budget competitors. This is not only unfortunate for the small business owner, but for the consumer too, who often isn’t aware that better service is available, only a page or two away.
If there is one thing Google has shown us time and time again, it’s that they are sticklers for accuracy and providing its users with the best possible information. And in their bid to continue doing just this, they have rolled out Google Guarantee.
No longer are the large corporations able to shove the little guy aside by running high-budget ad campaigns and pouring tens of thousands of dollars into SEO. Google Guarantee is giving small businesses their moment in the listings spotlight that they deserve. A reward, really, for having organic, positive reviews; a tip of the hat for maintaining their business license and having the proper insurance; an atta’ boy for hiring only the best employees that can be trusted in customers homes to do great work.
Google’s commitment to providing its users with the best possible information is once again shaking up search listings as we know them; and this time, small businesses will benefit.
